Innovative Programs

Advanced Placement Program

The AP Program offers college-level courses and exams that can be taken in high school. Taking AP helps students stand out to colleges and gives them the opportunity to earn college credit, advanced placement, or both. From computer science to art, history to world languages, there are AP courses to match the interests of every student.

AP Capstone™ A diploma program based on two AP courses: AP Seminar and AP Research. These yearlong courses focus on developing the critical thinking, research, collaboration, time management, and presentation skills students need for college-level work.

Cambridge International Program

The Cambridge International Program offers a globally recognized, rigorous curriculum designed to prepare students for college and beyond. Through Advanced International Certificate of Education (AICE) courses, students develop critical thinking, research, and writing skills while earning college credits and working toward the prestigious AICE Diploma. This program emphasizes deep subject knowledge across mathematics, science, languages, and humanities, with assessments focused on analysis and interpretation rather than multiple-choice testing. Students who complete the AICE Diploma and community service requirements qualify for the highest level of Florida Bright Futures Scholarship, making Cambridge an exceptional pathway to academic success and global opportunities.

Cyber Security

Nova High School’s Cybersecurity Program offers students an exciting pathway to a high-demand, lucrative career. The program features hands-on learning in a state-of-the-art cyber lab, gamified competitions, and real-world experiences through field trips and guest speakers from organizations like the FBI, NSA, and Microsoft. Students can earn up to 31 college credits, attain industry certifications (CompTIA & Cisco) for free, and benefit from dual enrollment opportunities. The four-year honors curriculum covers everything from network security fundamentals to advanced cybersecurity operations.

Law and Public Policy

The Law and Public Policy Program empowers students to explore the foundations of law, government, and civic responsibility through rigorous coursework and hands-on experiences. Students engage in classes such as Comprehensive Law, Constitutional Law, and AICE Law, while participating in mock trials, debate, and real-world projects like Project Citizen. The program also offers dual enrollment opportunities with Broward College, giving students a head start on careers in law, public service, and policy-making. Designed for future leaders, this innovative program builds critical thinking, advocacy skills, and ethical decision-making to prepare students for college and beyond.
